Buyer - Project Buyer Investments Ghent (temporary assignment)

We are now looking for a Project Buyer Consultant to be located in Ghent Belgium. The majority of the stakeholders and suppliers you will be working with are located in Belgium. Your main stakeholder will be Volvo Group Real Estate Services who is responsible for identifying and providing Volvo Group with real estate-related solutions.
With this position, you will have the possibility to interact with people from the whole world and get a good insight into different cultures and people.
Main responsibilities
  • Drive sourcing activities for investment projects in real estate CAPEX projects, according to defined strategies and frameworks
  • Lead supplier negotiations
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships with our suppliers
  • Build and maintain strong relationship with internal stakeholders.
  • Advise stakeholders on procurement issues, providing support and guidance at all stages of the procurement cycle
  • Drive improvements in purchasing processes and stakeholder behavior
  • Analyze and optimize the supplier base for your area of responsibility

Desired Education/Experience
  • Master of Science or Business Administration
  • Excellent spoken and written Flemish and English

Main skills & competencies
  • At least 3 years’ experience in purchasing
  • Specialized skills in property related subjects and construction are an advantage.
  • Solid project management, problem solving and continuous improvement skills
  • Strong team and cross-functional work player
  • High energy and passion for performance
  • Positive spirit
  • Holistic view and ability to optimize on value.
  • Ability to be effective in a variety of presentation settings

This is a temporary position, duration 12 months. (possibility of extension)
